For this role, we are assisting our partner, Data Roots, in recruiting a talented Website Developer to join their dynamic team. Data Roots is a full service web design agency with locations in Vancouver and Gibsons BC, Canada with a diverse client base in both North America and Europe.

What You'll Do:
- Develop and maintain responsive WordPress websites and web applications.
- Utilize Bricks Builder or other builders like Beaver Builder, Elementor, and Divi.
- Customize websites using tools such as ACF, Meta Box, and filtering systems.
- Create and manage custom post types and plugin integrations.
- Write, troubleshoot, and improve code in CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and PHP.
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs; work with JSON, SOAP, and XML.
- Implement upgrades, patches, and release management processes for WordPress sites.
- Ensure mobile responsiveness and optimize website loading times.
- Contribute ideas to enhance user experience and overall functionality.
- Demonstrate ability to resolve technical website issues independently or with team support.
What We're Looking For:
We seek individuals who are not only technically proficient but also aligned with our mission of creating growth for themselves and their communities. Ideal candidates will have:
- Strong communication skills in English.
- An eye for detail, ensuring consistency in spacing, fonts, and website flow, thoroughly checking your own work on all devices before sending it to QA.
- Full understanding of WordPress as most of our customers use this platform.
- Experience with the Bricks Builder; familiarity with other builders like Beaver Builder, Elementor, and Divi is a plus.
- Comfortable writing and understanding script languages: CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP.
- Experience building restful API, Json, Soap, XML based.
- Experience with ACF / Meta box / creating custom post types and filtering systems.
- Experience with website issue resolving, or want to learn.
- Reliability and assertiveness in a remote work environment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and idea generation.
- Willingness to learn and adapt, especially in areas like AI integration.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Shopify and/or Squarespace development.
- Knowledge or interest in AI technologies.
Working Hours
- Experience Preferably full-time (35–40 hours per week), but this is open for discussion.
- Flexibility to schedule your working hours, with the expectation of participating in 1–2 online team meetings per week.
- Holidays: You can schedule your own holidays. It's an ongoing freelance contracting position so all we need to know is when you take time off.
